Who we’re looking for
At DIRECT PERSONAL SUPPORT HHA, we’re not just hiring caregivers—we’re building a team of dependable professionals who take pride in the work they do. We’re looking for individuals who understand that caring for someone is a responsibility, not just a job.
The qualities that matter most to us:
- Dependability is non-negotiable – Showing up on time, every time, and following through on responsibilities is critical.
- Compassion with professionalism – You can care deeply while still maintaining boundaries, respect, and structure.
- Strong communication – Being able to clearly communicate with clients, families, and our team is essential.
- Attention to detail – Small things matter in this work. We look for caregivers who notice changes, follow care plans, and stay alert.
- Patience and emotional awareness – Many clients require understanding, flexibility, and a calm, supportive presence.
- Integrity and accountability – We want caregivers who do the right thing, even when no one is watching, and who take responsibility for their actions.

Daily responsibilities may include
- Personal care assistance – Helping clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and maintaining proper hygiene while preserving their dignity at all times.
- Companionship and emotional support – Engaging in conversation, providing encouragement, and helping reduce feelings of isolation.
- Meal preparation – Preparing simple, nutritious meals based on the client’s preferences and dietary needs.
- Light housekeeping – Keeping the client’s living space clean and organized, including laundry, dishes, and basic tidying.
- Medication reminders – Ensuring clients take their medications on time (non-medical reminders only).
- Mobility and safety support – Assisting with walking, transfers, and helping prevent falls or injuries in the home.
- Transportation assistance – Driving or accompanying clients to appointments, errands, or community activities when needed.
- Monitoring and reporting – Observing any changes in the client’s condition, behavior, or environment, and accurately reporting them to the appropriate team members.
